The host upgrade from ESXi 5.5 to ESXi 6.0 failed with the following error: „Cannot execute upgrade script on host“.
Today I received error on my vm summary page in Vsphere web client: The data service timed out because a back-end task took more than 120 seconds. See the vsphere-client-virgo.log for more details.
Just before that I removed a test vcenter server, which was connected to my PSC on production Vsphere instance.
You need to remove a stale vCenter Server from your SSO environment, use the cmsso-util. It may takes a long time but does the job.
Hi. One of my clients use proxmox virtualization in Production. So I need to move one service machine created for them from vmware to proxmox. As for me the most simple way is to use VMWare Converter. Lets try.
My vm configuration on esxi.
There is new useful utility on VMware Labs for VMware Horizon View administrators which helps them to connect the VMware View Client automatically into a View desktop or an application pool when the system starts up. This can be very useful for thin clients or for turning existing Windows endpoints into thin client systems used to automatically connect into a View desktop.
If you will receive the following error during vSphere 6.0a –> 6.0b updating:
Today I tried to upgrade my standalone (not in Cluster) host (HP DL 180 G6) with esxi 6.0 and Update Manager. But when the process starts I had received this error:
The upgrade contains the following set of cpnflicting VIBs:
Few weeks ago VMWare released VSAN Health Check Plugin. This plugin allows monitoring and troubleshooting your VSAN 6.0 Clusters. There are two versions of this plugin: first for Windows based vCenter Server and the second – for Linux VCSA (rpm file). VSAN Health Check plugin allows you to collect information about Cluster and its health, which would otherwise needed to be gathered via RVC or CLI. There is also a vib file which you need to deploy on your esxi hosts in VSAN Cluster. The deployment of the VIB file can be done through vSphere web client (other methods are through RVC, VUM or manually via CLI with “esxcli software vib” commands).
Today I want to install esxi 6.0 to my HP Microserver Gen8, which has only 4Gb of RAM. During the installation you will receive error as on screen below:
The esxi (standalone server) is free, but it must be licensed. If not, it installs as 60 days trial, which expires after 2 month.
How-to receive and apply VMware Free License to VMware ESXi 6.0?
vSphere Update Manager is a software for upgrading, migrating, updating, and patching clustered hosts, virtual machines, and guest operating systems. Update Manager orchestrates host and virtual machine upgrades. If your site uses vCenter Server, VMware recommends that you use Update Manager.
